Mr Jetdurational performance for arts buildings / variable length / 2019
available for booking
Please stay seated. Unattended security guards may be destroyed. This performance contains flashers and nothing much else of interest. The emergency exits are located now, then and whenever. Please ensure your devices remain calm.
Unfolding over multiple hours, Mr Jet reveals two ghostly ushers who lounge, pace, float and fidget; failing to stand to attention, whispering to each other through radio static.
Borrowing from customer service, public safety announcements, PR statements and emergency protocols, this playful and gently subversive intervention reflects on the oftentimes complicated relationship between institutions and their workers.
Created and performed by: Clara Potter-Sweet and Ben Kulvichit

The first iteration of Mr Jet was originally made to be performed in the dress circle seats of N.I.A.M.O.S, a beautiful early 20th century theatre which is now a co-operative run arts and community hub in Hulme, Manchester. It was later remade for foyer and/or gallery spaces in arts institutions.
